Alvarelhão Private 2019 is a Rosé Sparkling Wine obtained from the Alvarelhão grape variety. Alvarelhão is a very old variety (classified in 1790), which today is planted mainly in the north of the Vinho Verde region, especially in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço, where it has always been part of the red wines. The grapes used for this sparkling wine come from small plots of vines in Monção and Melgaço, planted in granite soils, grapes that, with the help of the mountainous group that surrounds this sub-region and guarantee harmony between the number of hours of sun and rain, reach a perfect balance between the sugar content and the acidity necessary for the elaboration of a high-quality sparkling wine.

The grapes, carefully selected, were pressed whole to obtain a must of great quality. The tear must was cooled and decanted at low temperatures for 48h. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at 16ºC for about 20 days. A period of aging on fine lees followed. The sparkling process followed the traditional method of fermentation and aging in the bottle, which allows the sparkling wine to develop aromas and flavours that reveal the elegance of the Alvarelhão. At the end of this phase, the “degorgement” was carried out, removing the yeasts, and the metal capsule was replaced by the definitive stopper.

This sparkling wine has an elegant onion skin pink color and has fine and persistent bubbles. On the nose it is delicate and with hints of pastry. The flavor is complex and persistent, showing great freshness.
